Engaged Staff for New Leisure Club Activities in Trollhättan

Do you want to make a difference for children and youth at our new leisure clubs in Kronogården, Lextorp, and Sylte? Together, we build a safe, inclusive, and meaningful leisure activity for children aged 6–11 who do not have access to regular after-school care.

About the Assignment

The city of Trollhättan is establishing free leisure clubs in three neighborhoods where the need for organized afternoon activities is significant. The activities are based on inclusion, equality, and children's right to a safe leisure time and protection from risk environments. As an employee, you are an important part of creating an open, health-promoting, and stimulating environment for children that contributes to meaningfulness and hope for the future.

The activities are based on the municipality's goal and resource plan, sustainability strategy, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The activities are run by the unit for social sustainability within the Education Administration and collaborate with the Labor Market and Social Administration as well as the Culture and Leisure Administration.

As a staff member in the leisure club, you will:

• Plan and lead meaningful leisure activities focusing on children's needs and interests.
• Be a safe adult who creates good relationships and supports children's social and personal development.
• Collaborate with school staff, guardians, and other community actors for the benefit of the children.
• To some extent, participate in school activities to create a clear transition between school and leisure club.
• Work on building and developing the activities with high quality.

The assignment may also involve work at the open preschool, where you meet children aged 0–6 years along with their guardians. The work includes, among other things:

• Welcoming and creating a safe and inviting environment for children and parents.
• Preparing and participating in various educational activities, such as singing sessions, creative activities, play, and movement.
• Supporting parents in their parenting through respectful and attentive interaction.
• Contributing to a stimulating environment that promotes children's development and curiosity.
• Participating in daily routines such as preparations, cleaning, and simpler administrative tasks.
• The open preschool is a social meeting place where relationship-building, safety, and participation are the focus.

We are looking for someone who

• Has education as a social pedagogue, preschool teacher, leisure leader, student supporter, or equivalent as assessed suitable by the employer for the assignment.
• Has experience working with children aged 6–11 years.
• Is engaged, secure, and relationship-building.
• Has a good ability to work independently and in a team.
• Has an inclusive approach and wants to work for equality, safety, and participation.
• Is comfortable collaborating with guardians based on different children's needs.

Experience with cultural diversity and work in socio-economically disadvantaged areas and collaboration with other community actors is meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Scope and Employment Form

Fixed-term employment until 261231 with the possibility of extension. The employment is a temporary position for an employee going on parental leave.

Part-time/full-time depending on the needs of the activities and the employee's role in the activities. Working hours: Weekdays.

Placement

Kronogården, Sylte, and Lextorp.
